Lotus Evora normally aspirated, +2 (rear seats), mid-engine V6, manual 6 speed. MY2011. 1st owner Lotus Cars Ltd for 2 years and allegedly used by Formula One legend Martin Donnelly. Handbook signed by Steve Crijns, Russell Carr and Gavan Kershaw. Owned since 2018. 81,600 miles. Selling to fund another sports car purchase. Full-service history (Lotus main dealers to 2022, Lotus specialist 2023). Carbon grey, cocobolo and black leather interior. All the ‘packs’ (premium, sport and tech), confirmed with Certificate of Provenance Lotus Cars Ltd. Close ratio gearbox (rebuilt at 68,000 miles, early CR ‘boxes had a manufacturing fault, the rebuild has cured this fault), clutch replaced 2021, discs and pads 2021, clutch master cylinder 2023, starter motor 2023, cooling radiator 2022 (alloy), wheels refurbished Oct 2023, MOT and service Sept 2023. Bought from Bell and Colvill in 2018 at 50,000 miles, this car is a joy to own and drive. Continental trips, commuting, Sunday twisty stuff, the Evora can do it all. Do not underestimate the usefulness of the rear seats, which can take people or a lot of luggage, in addition to the useful boot. A very reluctant sale, I am reducing my Lotus fleet having already sold Exige, Excel, Elan, Evora 410. I am keeping my S1 Elise collection. Mechanically, I always maintain and repair my cars as required, no expense spared. Cosmetically, I am less fussy; the interior is very clean, no dash cracks and airbag as it should be. The exterior paintwork is acceptable but the roof has bubbling (a common issue on early Evora) and there are stone-chips to the nose. The ‘sail’ panel (trim on tailgate) has a small crack. The price reflects this. The wheels have just been re-furbished, they were NOT kerb damaged but the paint was showing signs of being 13 years old. The in-car entertainment has been changed from Alpine to the more sophisticated Pioneer (fab Bluetooth). The reversing camera has just gone on a wobble but I never use it. I consider the normally aspirated Evora with the CR gearbox to be the best of the bunch – the lightest, smallest tyred Evora with the perfect amount of punch for UK roads, coupled to the supple suspension. Later Evora were in my judgement spoiled by firmer springs and big tyres. The CR ‘box makes a real difference over the long ratio, keeping on the power band, particularly noticeable 2nd to 3rd, a true sport ratio. The Lotus-tweaked Toyota V6 engine is perfectly tuned, the exhaust has a rasp but no annoying booms. The optional Sports Pack adds the ‘sport’ button for quicker throttle response and personally I would not buy an Evora without this option. I never thought I would sell this car, it has been a total joy and with so many major components replaced recently, it is set for many years of easy ownership. Includes owner’s manual, wallet, stamped service booklet (full, new one bought ready for the next service in 2024), two sets of keys. MetaTrak tracker fitted with security tags (should lower insurance premium) and provides live location of the car via phone app. Evora is the worlds only pretty mid-engine +2 car, most are compromised aesthetically (think Mondial). Emira is not +2. A reluctant sale. Price: £25,995.00.
